The Acoustic Transducer Company (ATC), renowned for its signature high-output, low-distortion audio engineering and trusted by musicians, studio and field sound engineers, and audiophiles for over 50 years, is proud to announce the production of the C4 Sub Mk 2 active subwoofer system. Designed to combine the highest standards of driver and electronic engineering in a single system, the C4 Sub Mk 2 incorporates the new proprietary ATC 12-inch SS75-314SC subwoofer driver, powered by a newly developed 300W Class AB amplifier design. All components are handcrafted and installed at ATC's manufacturing headquarters in Stroud.

New ATC bass driver
The C4 Sub Mk 2 features the all-new SS75-314SC bass driver, the first driver specifically designed for ATC bass systems. Developed by the R&D team, it reproduces the lowest four octaves of the subwoofer's audio band. To achieve this, the design utilizes ATC's signature long gap/short coil configuration to its natural limits, featuring an extra-long 30mm gap surrounded by 6-inch/150mm N48M neodymium magnets. This is ATC's first completely redesigned motor system, incorporating new rubber roller surrounds for high offset capability, new star wheels to optimize compliance geometry, and high-flow motor ventilation for low noise and compression.

The all-new 300W Class AB design is precisely optimized for the requirements of the new drivers, producing fast, dynamic bass with minimal coloration. Two balanced line inputs provide connectivity for stereo or AV/home theater systems, while two balanced outputs can be used to feed collaborating "master" stereo speakers or "daisy-chain" multiple subwoofers. The low-pass filter is an analog fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley with filter frequency options to ensure optimal integration with collaborating speakers. Furthermore, an industry-standard 80Hz low-pass filter and an "off" option (for external processing) are included, along with a polarity switch, variable 180° phase adjustment, and a stepped attenuator with a range exceeding 21 dB for precise level matching.
