ATC, a British company, has produced many professional studio monitor speakers for many years and is also very good at designing active speakers, earning them a great reputation. In addition, they also produce source units, preamps and power amplifiers, which are equally popular in the market.
The CDA2 MK2 is a 3-in-1 CD/DAC/preamplifier model.
The CDAMK2 features a redesigned and optimized analog circuitry, employing a 32-bit AKM DAC decoding chip. Furthermore, to support the DAC, the MK2 incorporates nine additional voltage regulators in its power supply architecture, resulting in a significantly improved power decoupling design compared to the Mk1.
The CDA2 MK2 features a set of high-precision new USB inputs on the rear panel, capable of handling signals up to 384kHz/PCM, as well as Hi-Res signals such as DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256. It also includes coaxial and optical inputs (192kHz). The CD transport is made with TEAC, offering advantages such as fast read speeds, low mechanical noise, and high error correction capabilities.
In addition to digital inputs, it features analog phono/RCA inputs, as well as an additional set of auxiliary analog inputs (3.5mm mini jack). There is also a 6.35mm headphone output on the back, capable of driving headphones from 30-600 ohms.
In terms of the fuselage, the chassis is constructed from a combination of steel and aluminum, and utilizes a restrained damping layer control panel to generate resonance. The front panel is made of extruded profiles. Other specifications include dimensions of 90 x 445 x 330 mm (H x W x D) and a weight of 7 kg.
