Fusion DAC - A groundbreaking innovation in DAC design
The Vega S1 inherits the Fusion DAC design of the Vega G2.2, combining the best features of discrete ladder and Delta-Sigma DAC designs to create a new standard of excellence. This innovative approach involves modifying the DAC chip from a high-performance DAC chip manufacturer, bypassing most functions such as PLLs, digital filters, and oversampling circuitry to achieve this. AURALiC employs its own proprietary clock reconstruction, digital filtering, and oversampling technologies to ensure that only the precise internal components of the DAC chip are used in the final digital-to-analog conversion stage. The result is exceptional sound quality that elevates the listening experience to a new level.
The Fusion DAC design offers users unparalleled customization and flexibility, allowing for fine-tuning and optimization to suit individual preferences. Analog preamplifier
The VEGA S1 retains the successful analog preamplifier functionality from the VEGA G2.2. The ORFEO Class-A output module ensures balanced outputs can drive loads below 600 ohms. Users can disable the preamplifier function via software, reducing the output level to 2V for easy and seamless integration with other preamplifiers.
Analog volume control
The VEGA S1 employs the highly acclaimed analog step-resistance volume control, widely recognized as a solution for high-performance sound playback. Unlike digital volume control, which accurately reduces signal levels but fails to address noise floor issues, analog volume control maintains the system's dynamic range while reducing both signal levels and noise floor. Utilizing eight coil gate relays, this volume control system consumes no power and emits no electromagnetic interference when idle, ensuring noise-free and distortion-free control. Once adjusted, the system maintains the transparency of its electronic circuitry, further enhancing the VEGA S1's outstanding sound performance.
The all-new VEGA G2.2 features AURALiC's proprietary Direct Data Recording (DDR) technology. DDR directly records audio data into the Tesla G3's system memory, then processes it using dual 60fs Femto Clocks and outputs it to the DAC – one for 44.1x and the other for 48x sampling rate multiplication, serving as a master clock independent of the input signal. Thanks to these cutting-edge technologies, the VEGA G2.2 is immune to input signal distortion and jitter, delivering unparalleled sound quality.
