The all-new Gryphon Essence from Denmark
The first new addition to the lineup is the Essence Preamplifier, a pure Class A fully balanced preamplifier with a minimalist Scandinavian furniture aesthetic. Its symmetrical front panel is constructed from two thick, CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminum pieces, combined with a high-rigidity acrylic sheet with meticulously polished edges, forming a triangular shape. The display screen offers multiple brightness levels, and the flexible function settings menu includes fine-tuning of the input level and a green bias adjustment specifically designed for Gryphon power amplifiers.
Dual-mono pure Class A zero-feedback discrete amplifier circuit
The Essence Preamplifier features a pure Class A fully balanced preamplifier circuitry, employing the renowned dual-mono pure Class A zero-feedback discrete design from Danish Gryphon. Interstage coupling is achieved through servo-monitored DC direct connection, creating an ultra-wide 1MHz frequency response. The innovative pure Class A single-ended input buffer stage combines high speed, openness, and transparency. A new 43-segment tactile fully balanced volume control system, composed of low-inductance sealed gold-plated relays and high-precision surface-mount metal resistors, ensures that each signal flows through only two resistors, fully upholding the high-fidelity principle.
Both inputs and outputs are equipped with RCA and XLR connectors . For connectivity, the Essence Preamplifier pure Class A fully balanced preamplifier provides 3 sets of RCA and 2 sets of XLR high-level inputs. No additional wiring is required; the Neutrik XLR and RCA terminals, insulated with PTFE, connect directly to the circuit board, further reducing signal loss. The power cable from the rear IEC socket to the power switch is also concealed in a shielded channel to prevent interference from the 50/60 Hz mains frequency. Furthermore, a fixed-output AV pass-through interface, specifically designed for AV systems, also supports both XLR and RCA connectors.
The power supply section utilizes a 52,000 microfarad capacitor as energy storage . The Essence Preamplifier, an integrated pure Class A fully balanced preamplifier, is meticulously designed in its power supply circuit. It not only uses Schottky diodes and a 52,000 microfarad capacitor as energy storage, but also employs a shunt design for voltage regulation. The volume control section uses organic polymer aluminum capacitors and German Wima polypropylene film capacitors as bypasses to create the best noise suppression effect.
Can be equipped with a phono preamp or decoding module
