Unlike ordinary network cables that use ordinary copper conductors, the Stream Primus uses oxygen-free copper as the base and then silver-plated on the surface. This is a practice only found in high-end audio cables. The conductors are twisted pairs and triple-shielded with a layer of aluminum foil and two layers of copper braided mesh. This gives the Stream Primus not only good conductivity but also excellent anti-interference capabilities.
The connector uses a 24K gold-plated plug to pursue performance and reliability, a design not commonly seen in IT network cables.
With this design , the Stream Primus naturally meets all the requirements of the Cat 8.1 standard and can perform 40GBit data transfers. The Stream Primus is available in various lengths; the Oehlbach website lists lengths of 0.25 , 0.5 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 , 7.5 , 10 , and 15 meters. The cable uses the most common RJ45 connector, allowing it to be compatible with Cat6 , 6A , and 5 network devices.
